Preparing a SET watchlist for earnings week

A practical checklist for Thai-listed holdings when reporting dates cluster tightly.

When Thai-listed companies report in a dense cluster, attention scatters. Investors try to watch every ticker and end up reacting to headlines instead of testing theses.

Ahead of earnings week we ask clients to sort holdings into three piles:

  • Guidance-sensitive: Names where the story depends on management commentary more than a single quarter’s print.
  • Balance-sheet watch: Names with leverage, covenant, or liquidity questions that a weak print could aggravate.
  • Quiet hold: Names where the thesis is multi-year and a single miss should not force action.

Only the first two piles need active monitoring questions written in advance. The third pile needs discipline — the courage not to tinker.

Our Earnings Season Prep consultation is essentially a guided sorting exercise plus a one-page reminder sheet. It will not tell you where the index closes on Friday. It will tell you which of your own names deserve the most careful reading when the releases hit.
